Herbal medicine for health and wellbeing

What is herbal medicine?

Herbal medicine is plant based medicine where the whole herb parts are used as medicine in its natural form.  Herbs work in synergy and a herb blend is personalised after a consultation.

Herbal medicine has been widely used for centuries as effective remedies for the prevention and treatment of many health conditions by almost every culture such as in China and India where its use dates back 5000 years. This extraordinary wealth of experience over the centuries adds to a huge knowledge base combined with latest research. It is estimated that 80% of the world’s population uses herbal medicines.

The effectiveness of herbs to treat ill health is continually being validated by pharmacological research and clinical trials. Today there is much interest by the scientific community on herbal medicines. Scientific analysis shows herbal medicines to contain a wide variety of naturally occurring active constituents (e.g. polyphenols, saponins, alkaloids, tannins, essential oils, fatty acids, vitamins and trace elements) that have the therapeutic effect.

Some health complaints that can be helped by herbal medicine include:

- digestive problems such as irritable bowel and indigestion

- menopausal symptoms

- muscular joint aches and pains
